Pratt & Whitney Canada PW610F Turbofan

The Pratt & Whitney Canada PW610F is a medium-bypass turbofan that is flat-rated at 900-lbf takeoff thrust at sea level up to 77°F.

The two-spool design of the PW610F features a single-stage high pressure turbine driving a mixed-flow and centrifugal high pressure compressor and a single-stage low pressure turbine driving a 14-inch one-piece titanium integrated bladed rotor fan. Engine control is provided by a Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC). Thrust is managed through power lever input signal to the FADEC, which controls a fuel metering unit. The FADEC utilizes air data, engine spool speeds, and EGT from sensor inputs to adjust fuel schedules and govern engine operation within limits. Additional FADEC features include auto-start, in-flight auto-restart, overtemperature and overspeed protection to enhance safety and performance while reducing pilot workload.

The PW610F engine features a 3-year, 1000-hour comprehensive warranty package. It includes an initial Time Between Overhaul (TBO) period of 3,500 hours and a mid-life Hot Section Inspection (HSI) term of 1,750 hours.

The PW600 series of engines started with the PW625, a 2500-lbf thrust demonstrator engine that has undergone testing in test cells as well as on a flying test bed, fulfilling all of its stated objectives.
