Eclipse Prepares for Assembly of Eclipse 500 Jet

Eclipse has begun expansion and renovation of its facility at Sunport International Airport in Albuquerque, NM. Scheduled for completion in late summer of this year, the project will increase office and assembly space to approximately 90,000 square feet dedicated to the production of the Eclipse 500 jet.

"In line with meeting our goal for first flight in June 2002," said Vern Raburn, president and CEO of Eclipse Aviation, "we are renovating our existing facility to accommodate production through 2004."

When the renovation is complete, approximately 60,000 square feet will be dedicated to assembly while approximately 28,000 square feet will become office space.

Three Albuquerque companies have been selected to accomplish the renovation. The primary contractor for the project is Bradbury Stamm. Pace Iron Works, Inc., will supply the steel for the 7,000 square foot addition, and Work Space Dynamics will supply office furniture.

The new front entrance to Eclipse Aviation's headquarters takes shape.
From inside the lobby, the stairway is installed.
The modular construction allows us to connect all our facilities together with minor modification to the existing structures.
Progressing at an amazing pace, steel beams arch over the framework just one day after the first beams went up.
Work continues well into the Albuquerque sunset.
