Eclipse Aviation Releases Eclipse 500 Price/Performance Details
At $1.52 million, breakthrough VLJ delivers best value proposition in general aviation
OSHKOSH, WI - July 27, 2006 - Today Eclipse Aviation, manufacturer of the revolutionary Eclipse 500 very light jet (VLJ), released a comprehensive performance and specification summary for its innovative jet. The aircraft, which boasts an acquisition cost of $1.52 million in July 2006 dollars, offers Eclipse customers state-of-the-art jet performance for a fraction of the acquisition, operating and ownership costs of competitive aircraft. This change in price is a simple mathematical normalization of CPI-W adjustments from June 2000 to July 2006 and does not reflect any increase in price

Following last month’s announcement of the Eclipse 500’s final maximum cruise speed, stall speed, useful load, two-engine climb rate and range, today Eclipse Aviation published a full aircraft price/performance summary:

About Eclipse:

Eclipse Aviation is in the business of designing, certifying and producing modern, affordable jet aircraft that will revolutionize the transportation market. The company is applying advanced electronics systems, manufacturing and business practices to produce aircraft that cost less than a third of today's small jet aircraft, will be significantly safer and easier to operate than those of today, and have the lowest cost of ownership ever achieved in a jet aircraft.

The goal of Eclipse is to bring the word "personal" into aviation, making it possible for commercial air passengers to move directly between cities on a quick, affordable and convenient basis. It will also allow pilot owners to enter the world of jet-powered aviation.
