President and CEO of Eclipse Aviation Accepts Invitation to Testify before the Commission on the Future of the United States Aerospace Industry
Vern Raburn will speak as part of Panel focused on Commercial Air Capacity and Infrastructure
ALBUQUERQUE, NM - February 7, 2002 - Eclipse Aviation Corporation today announced its President and CEO, Vern Raburn, will speak to the congressionally-mandated Commission on the Future of the United States Aerospace Industry on February 12, 2002 at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington D.C.
The Commission has the imperative mission of ensuring the health of our national aerospace industry today and into the future, said Raburn. I am happy to take part in this important cause and am honored to have been given the opportunity to speak as a representative of the future of commercial aviation.
Raburn is scheduled to speak at 10:30 a.m. and is expected to provide the commission with information on point-to-point air travel as being made possible by the Eclipse 500 jet. He will also provide comment regarding the creation of an air traffic infrastructure capable of meeting the nation's ever-increasing demand for air travel and the economic benefits of providing an air travel alternative to the hub-and-spoke system.
About the Commission on the Future of the United States Aerospace Industry
The Commission on the Future of the United States Aerospace Industry is a congressionally mandated commission, as established in Section 1092 of the Floyd D. Spence National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2001, Public Law 106-398. The Commission was formed to study the future of the United States aerospace industry in the global economy, particularly in relationship to United States national security; and to assess the future importance of the domestic aerospace industry for the economic and national security of the United States.
